Lee Wilson is the Principal Consultant, and Director, at Melbourne Access Audits. He is also an accredited member of the Association of Consultants in Access, Australia Inc. He has presented at various industry conferences and meetings.
Lee is currently one of only three disability access Subject Matter Experts appointed by the Australian Building Codes Board to assist in developing industry awareness and acceptance in the use of Performance (Alternative) Solutions.
Over the years, Lee has worked in many industries during his extensive career in the built environment, commencing as a 16-year-old in the plumbing industry. He then worked in several different areas but generally remained tied to the building industry in one capacity or another, including several years in the Australian Army Royal Australian Engineer Corps.
With experience in facility management, asset management, building compliance, building surveying, building control and for the last few years in disability access consulting.

Lee also initiated the Accessible Exit Sign Project in 2014 which is a global campaign for better exit signage strategies for people with disability.
As an active campaigner for improved evacuation provisions for people with disability Lee also wrote and released an evacuation guidebook titled “Evacuation of People with Disability & Emergent Limitations: Considerations for Safer Buildings & Efficient Evacuations”, which is available as a free download from the Accessible Exit Sign Project website.
