Guidelines on the Application of the Access to Premises Standards
The Guideline on the application of the Premises Standards has been developed by the Australian Human Rights Commission to assist building professionals and those concerned with access to better understand how the Premises Standards apply to new and upgraded public buildings.
Throughout the Guidelines, there are references to ‘good practice’ or recommendations that are not a legal requirement.
The original Guidelines was issued in March 2011 and this version was issued in February 2013. It contains a number of edits and new notes on interpretation based on feedback from users.
A copy of the Guidelines can be downloaded from the Australian Human Rights Commission website.
